Liquefied Natural Gas Plant
Player and Company performed construction of all facilities identified as offsite at a Georgia LNG plant, which handles peak shaving for metropolitan Atlanta. These offsite facilities consisted of all underground incoming and sendout distribution mains. Installation included several metering and pressure regulating stations and instrumentation.
Player’s project included the installation of:
- Turbine-driven booster compressors
- Waste heat boilers
- Heat exchangers
- An absorption chiller with attendant pumps and cooling tower
Propane Storage Plant
At this storage plant, Player and Company was engaged to install fourteen 90,000-gallon underground storage tanks and completely re-pipe sixty existing 60,000 gallons underground tanks. The project also included installation of new truck and rail unloading facilities.
The bulk of the piping systems were pre-fabricated in the company’s shop from drawings developed by Player and Company’s engineering staff. All welding was performed under API-1104 Standard with 100% radiographic inspection.
As the prime contractor, Player and Company performed the majority of the work utilizing its own men and equipment for:
- Excavation
- Demolition
- Equipment setting
- Pouring of concrete
- Fabrication and installation of miscellaneous structural steel, instrumentation, and backfilling.
